Research suggests workforce diversity boosts innovation, profits, employee engagement and long-term growth. Today’s leaders need to embrace the diverse world we live in. From global markets, to shifting customer and talent demographics, and transformational ideas. Understanding and being adept at inclusive leadership will help leaders adapt and thrive in today’s increasingly diverse environment.

This course will help participants build the skills to become an inclusive leader, effect change in their organization, and provide tools to overcome barriers to creating an equitable and inclusive work environment.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the benefits for self and the company, in pursuing a diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) objective
  • Employ methods to make DEIB part of an organization’s mission, culture, and values
  • Describe the essential traits of an inclusive leader- cognizance, curiosity, cultural intelligence, collaboration, commitment, courage
  • Apply strategies to reduce unconscious/implicit bias and microaggressions in the workplace
  • Use methods to be a culture change champion
  • Utilize tools to create organizational equity and encourage diverse contributions
  • Describe how leaders can implement inclusive policies and support strategies to encourage the translation of inclusion into action
  • Demonstrate how to be an ally by supporting marginalized individuals and being adaptable
  • Describe how to apply the benefits of  self-identity, and intersectionality
  • Value the importance of conscious allyship, mentorship and sponsorship of diverse talent
  • Recognize how bystander training helps empower employees, so they have the skills and confidence they need to intervene effectively
  • Employ tools to create empathy and overcome the barriers to block empathy
  • Recognize the importance of measuring DEIB efforts
